OUT Ft Lauderdale Police Captain Bill Schultz chats about his career, covid & making difference by giving back to the community
Join Kelli and Anne for their 150th NEW episode and kick off to Season 4!!
They begin by talking about spending the holidays at home and how they rang in the new year from their sofa!
First they welcome past guest and good friend, Family Nurse Practitioner Steven Carroll. Because so many people are confused about Covid testing and the vaccines, they decided to bring Steve on the show to explain what the differences are and what we should all still be doing to stay safe and healthy. For more info you can always go to www.cdc.gov
Their special guest today is their good friend, OUT Police Captain Bill Schultz from the Fort Lauderdale Police Department. First they talk about how he has been holding up during covid and the loss of his colleague and friend, Deputy Sheriff Shannon Bennett, the first law enforcement officer to pass away due to covid in Florida. Hear about Bill’s coming out process and how it has helped him make a difference within his own department and the community at large. He also chats about other ways he is involved in the community like the annual LGBT+ prom and his annual toy drive. Finally, he talks about his advice for young people that may want to join the Police Department.
As always, they end with a cocktail from Equality Vodka. This week they are serving The Passionate Captain!
